change /dev/cdrom0 to /dev/dvd?

i installed gentoo and followedd the instructions and ofcorse set up my dvd player as cdrom0...but now how would i change it to be seen correctly as a dvd player?

ok but if you wanted to have it recognized for what it is just like because thats what it is what would you need to change to do it correctly...i am adding a cdrw this week adn want to have he dvd as the hda the cdrw as hdc and then i hope to have a /dev/md0 on hde and hdg
