|
|
I have been unsuccessful in getting my wifi chipset to work on my RPi3 since installing Gentoo. It works without issue on other distros, so I know there is nothing wrong with the board. I am getting the same result when using 4.4.13 and 4.4.14.
The error I am receiving in dmesg is:
Code: | brcmfmac: brcmf_sdio_htclk: HT Avail timeout (1000000): clkctl 0x50 |
Manually unloading and loading brcmfmac will product the error (x3). I have compiled the drivers as both a module and into the kernel with the same result. The proper firmware files are in /lib/firmware/brcm/.
I have followed the advice from this post with no luck: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1042402-highlight-wifi+chipset.html.
Since wifi works flawlessly when booting Arch, I copied the kernel config and recompiled using it and am experiencing the same error. I have seen a few other people experiencing this issue but have not come across any solution. Any help would be very greatly appreciated.

Hi,
did you copy the "brcmfmac43430-sdio.txt" file from your arch install to /lib/firmware/brcm as well?

Hello,
Yes, that is in there as well. I even copied all of the firmware files from the working distro just to see if anything would be any different, but no such luck.
Additionally, dmesg reports that the driver is being registered successfully when modprobing brcmfmac. |

Well, as it turns out, the brcmfmac43430-sdio.bin file I was working with was corrupted. A fresh download and kernel recompilation has solved the problem. I probably should have checked that sooner... |
