I know there is a time limit between posting to stop spam but it is so long now that I am constantly getting stuck having to wait about 25 seconds for it to time out. Can you put it back to 5-10 seconds? _________________ https://otw20.com/ OTW20 The new place for off the wall chat |

Just how fast are you typing?!! And where can I get that kind of skill?
Seriously, however, I'm afraid this can't be readily accommodated. Blame the spammers. It used to be lower, but those idiots thought it a good idea to post the same*#%^@ trash hundreds of times over. We've seen as many as 700 spamposts coming from the same "user", arriving as fast as the server could process them. So the timer was bumped up to address this problem.
It's currently at around a minute. I still find it hard to imagine that two cogent thoughts in a row could be not only be had, but also typed out, in less time than that. Please accept both my congratulations at such impressive display of skill, and my apologies that it cannot be more readily accommodated. _________________ Many think that Dilbert is a comic. It's not that rare. I have hit by this timer a few times recently
But it is a lesser of two evils _________________ #define HelloWorld int
#define Int main()
#define Return printf
#define Print return
#include <stdio>
HelloWorld Int {
Return("Hello, world!\n");
Print 0; |

Can it be brought down from a minute to about 45 seconds? About 10-15 seconds shorter than it is now would be ideal _________________ https://otw20.com/ OTW20 The new place for off the wall chat |

It's still too long. Stupidly long.
What are the chances of a countdown on the page where it says you've posted too fast? "you have 39,38,37 seconds to wait" _________________ https://otw20.com/ OTW20 The new place for off the wall chat |

I think it should be made even longer, to encourage CERTAIN PEOPLE to actually think before just excreting the first thing that comes to mind. |

Actually, the system was devised thinking of cokehabit. Hence, it seems to be working OK! _________________ "I'm just very selective about the reality I choose to accept." -- Calvin |

I don't know about that. While it may have limited the frequency of his posts, I'm not sure the delay has caused actual thought to occur. |
