hi
i have got my gentoo and winxp (sharing internet) network going.
i can ping both computers with each over, with hostname and ip address.
but when i try to connect to my winxp comp, it says it cant connect i use the command smb://192.168.0.1, i install samba and my winxp comp finds my gentoo comp, but it only has printers and fax folder, not home dir.
any ideas? |

have you set up everything right on your gentoo comp?
and don't forget the nameserver
Do you have 2 network cards on your Xp comp? _________________ "To no man shall i kneel, their blood is upon my steel" - Manowar |

If you are using gnome don't forget to emerge gnome-vfs-extras. Sounds like that is your problem (you can connect through the CL)
Or if you use a smaller WM, such as fluxbox, you can try things like LinNeighborhood |
