I'm using gnome, and gnome-cups-manager to try to add my printer (shared from other computer via smb). It all goes without error till I press 'Apply' (the point at which the printer would actually be added). Here, I get a message saying that the operation could not be completed. I'm running the setup as root.
If I want to use the http cups conf, for location I would put 'username:password@ip_address', correct? |

Nono, I meant when I go to the http configuration at localhost:631, when I click to add a printer, where it says 'location', the above is true for a printer shared via smb, yes? |

I tried the web configuration as above, but was unsuccessful. Is sharing via CUPS (and not samba) difficult? |
