I have a Toshiba Satellite s220 Notebook, and I'm trying to put Gentoo on it. I followed the instructions step by step, and everyhthing SEEMed to work fine, but when I booted it back up for the reboot all the text on the screen was all messed up and had vertical lines going down it.
I'm thinking it has to do with the Displaymanager type?
Anyone have this happen and know an answer?
Thanks,
Ron |

Did it get past Grub when you rebooted ?
if not then post your grub.conf file. |

this can happen when the monitor/laptop screen doesnt support the framebuffer mode you specified, or you selected the wrong fb driver. Does deleting the framebuffer lines off the kernel work? _________________ 95% of all computer errors occur between chair and keyboard (TM)
