I'm searching for a good X11 window manager for my Raspberry Pi 3 B. I'm running gentoo with arm64 kernel. Happens that they're mostly unsupported.

What window managers are you guys using? And any tips on how to get them working?

jpkc,

KDE/Plasma works.
MATE works
Xfce4 works
twm works too but you way not like that.

Those are all keyworded ~arm64 too. You don't even have to build them if you can live with my setup.
If you want KDE, you must disable baloo before you start it.

Thanks for the feedback! :D

This is what I've got on portage's database: https://packages.gentoo.org/categories/x11-wm
Code:
Working: (arm64)
    Awesome, BlackBox, cwm, fluxbox
Testing: (~arm64)
OpenBox, dwm, Enlightenment, fvwm, i3, marco, mutter

Will add KDE/Plasma, MATE, Xfce4 and TWM to the list. Thanks!

Do you use any of them? Are they light? How do they cope with Pi's hardware?

Will try those here!

I fvwm works, you can add fvwm-crystal. It is the most advanced fvwm configuration which turn it into an easy to use desktop.

If you use fvwm, I would be very interested to know how fvwm-crystal is working on arm. That because I am the main developer of fvwm-crystal.
