I guys, upon committing a emerge --sync i receive the following checksum error. I'm hoping this is a problem on my end and nothing serious. Thanks.

I've occasionally managed to work around this by using
Code:
emerge-webrsync
but you can disable the GPG verification by editing
Code:
/etc/portage/repos.conf/gentoo.conf

if the file doesn't exist in repos.conf/gentoo.conf you can create a new file or update an existing one.

IIRC the repos.conf/gentoo.conf variable to disable is
Code:
 sync-rsync-verify-metamanifest = yes

Either emerge-webrsync or altering repos.conf/gentoo.conf temporarily should permit you to update your system.

Thanks, I attempted another emerge --sync and it seemed to work the second time round, I am on a flaky link so it could have been just that.
