|
|
Hello:
I was wondering if anyone has a Dual CPU Dual Core G5 running Gentoo (or Linux in general) and if so did they run any benchmarks?
My friends and I are just really curious about where its performance would score. If anyone has one, I would really appreciate if they installed sysbench and ran
Code: | sysbench --num-threads=4 --test=cpu --cpu-max-prime=20000 run |
so I could get a stable benchmark to look at with respect to my own machines.
Any other benchmarks are appreciated as well. |

So I just realized sysbench is masked by default on ppc arch. However, for 32 bit powerpc I discovered that if I set the environment variable PLATFORM=macppc, then concurrencykit (a dependency) will build correctly. What is the process for getting something unmasked for an architecture (at least to testing)? |

Never mind, I can't get a current version of sysbench to build. There is a debian package around so I know its possible, but I will have to figure it out later. |

If I manage to have enough time & boredom in a few weeks I will try the Phoronix testsuite on the G5. Let's see how that goes. _________________ Talos II. [Gentoo Linux] | PMac G5 11,2. PMac G4 3,6. PBook G4 5,8. [MorphOS 3.18 / Gentoo Linux] | Vampire V4 SA [ApolloOS / Amiga OS 3.2.2] |
