Hi all,
I've tried several times to post in the Kernel forum, but I always get an "Error in Posting" error, and the post isn't published. "View my posts" says I have a number to suggest they have been posted, but there's nothing in the list.
I have searched the forums, and the only relevant post I can find is about the title. I've tried re-posting with very simple titles, but all to no avail. The post I was trying to publish was very long, with Dmesg, .config etc in Code brackets, if that makes a difference?
Any help would be appreciated.  |

| Instead of pasting long output using code tags, you may try using wgetpaste instead. |

I saw that, which is why I tried several times with increasingly simple titles. No matter, I've managed to post what I wanted, though my linked logs aren't working, so wgetpaste here we come...

As fturco implied, it is not just titles being overly long (in practice, over 60 characters as escaped for storage), post bodies can and do trigger the same misbehavior. |

Gotcha. Sorry, the ink in the thread quoted, the same info I’d found, suggested just the titles. It’s a moot point now as I’ve now used wgetpaste effectively. Nice tool! |

You have nothing to apologize for, you encountered a bug; the worst it should do for overlength posts, or titles, or whatever else is silently truncate them; current behavior is notably less user friendly than even that rather low bar. I was just making it explicit that titles are only one of the things affected by the bug. |
