I get the following module errors at start-up:

Code:

* Calculating module dependencies...
FATAL: Module st not found.
FATAL: Module ide_probe_mod not found.
FATAL: Module ide_tape not found.
FATAL: Module st not found.
FATAL: Module ide_probe_mod not found.
FATAL: Module ide_tape not found.
FATAL: Module sg not found.
FATAL: Module sg not found.

Which is odd because I don't have any of those installed as modules (I have no idea what st and sg are). The modules I did compile install fine, however, so I'm not sure why the kernel is trying to load these other ones.

What's wrong and how do I fix it?

Thanks for the link. Looks like modules-init-tools is buggy so it's recommended you downgrade to version 3.0_pre5:

emerge /usr/portage/sys-apps/module-init-tools/module-init-tools-3.0_pre5.ebuild
