Having a problem getting any sound over the Optical out. ALSA seems to be working fine otherwise, sound is fine when i plug headphones into the normal analog port.
Kernel 2.6 using the intel 8x0 alsa driver.
The strange thing is that *something* is happening because when I mute the IEC958 control in alsamixer, the digital light on my reciever goes off as you would expect. |

what type of hardware do you have? motherboard stuff like that? is it an nforce2? If so i'm not sure if it will work, i read that some where, do a search you should find something.

| Yeah it's the onboard sound on an abit IC7 (i875). I've tried all kinds of things found from searching, but no luck so far. Last bump for help! |
