Dial on demand basics

Hi,

I try to configure DoD and have already used adsl-setup, entering an idle time. I am able to open/close a connection with adsl-start / adsl-stop.

I have not found a helpful hint on the problem in the forums, but finally I would like to understand the mechanism behind this and be able to track down the problem. Is there any reading you can recommend ?

I knoe it has to do with pppd, rppoe and several config files, but I don't understand how they interact with each other.
