Is it possible to put an ndiswrapper driver in RFMON (for sniffing)? As part of the homeland security initiative we peridoically make sure that our buildings tenants do not use wireless networks.
Thanks,

Sorry, but that's kind of inhibitive. What if they use VPN or cycle their WEP keys fairly frequently?
And in response to your question, no, ndiswrapper can't do rfmon. More specifically, NDIS can't do rfmon, so ndiswrapper most likely won't be able to support it ever.
If you're serious about sniffing out the existence of wireless networks, I suggest you get a different wireless card. |

Cycling WEP keys or using VPN doesn't matter. I just need to see if they EXIST.
I'll try a PCMCIA card, thanks. My current card is mini-pci. _________________ Tell your ISP to support SPF/SASL AUTH (http://spf.pobox.com) today! |
