Hello,
I want to ask your advice before I do this. I want to install some programs (kcpuload, k3Studio)
the following is one of the dependencies that these programs require
[ebuild U ] kde-base/kdelibs-2.2.2-r4 to /
My concern is that I am running KDE 3.0 If I install this, will it break KDE 3? or will the kdelibs 2.2.2 and 3.0 be installed together?
Thanks for any help..

It shouldn't break anything, cdbakeoven also installs some libs from kde 2.2 but kde 3 still works fine.
I have not emerged those apps, but I would think that the kde2 libs would coexist fairly nicely.
if you go to /usr/kde I notice on my system that there are two differnt directories there, one named "2" and the other "3".
I think that this is how the different versions are separated.
