|
|
I was trying to install gentoo on my raspberry pi, after configuring the memory card I find the raspberry pi not booting up but showing the following screen:
https://ibb.co/GVsmnbZ
I tried to install raspberry pi OS, but I got the same screen, so it is not a gentoo issue but I was wondering if someone knows what I can do about this issue.
thanks

Is this the only thing you see or does it happens later in the upstart process? Have you tried another monitor?
Have you made any changes to the file `/boot/config.txt`? If so, have you tried reverting them? _________________ Collect memories, not things. |

I tried 3 different monitores and got the same result.
I tried modifying some hdmi parameters like the hdmi boost(tried 1,3 & 7).
I also tried using the original config file with no modifications and got the same result. |

Adel Ahmed,
What model Pi?
If its a Pi4, where is the monitor connected? _________________ Regards,

Adel Ahmed,
Only HDMI-0, nearest the power connector will work.
At powerup, do you get the rainbow screen?
If you boot the Pi with nothing connected except the PSU - No SDCARD either, the green LED should flash in a repeating sequence.
Describe the sequence. _________________ Regards,

I do not get teh rainbow screen unforunately.
I connected the pi with nothing connected but the PSU, I got some very rapid green blinks(less than a second), then I get 7 green blinks, 1 second later the pi goes to solid green |

Adel Ahmed,
Your SPI ROM on the Pi is probably corrupt. That's if you are lucky.
The correct answer is a repeating sequence of Green flashes, as it keeps executing looking for the SD card.
Try this.
If that does not fix it, its a hardware problem. _________________ Regards,

Adel Ahmed,
The Pi is not doing what its supposed to do with no external devices except the PSU connected.
That means its either the PSU or the Pi.
Before you scrap the Pi, test with another PSU. _________________ Regards,

If you fixed tye issue—by the look of the topic, it looks like you did—you should also share the solution, on the likely event of someone else having the same or smillar issues. :) _________________ Collect memories, not things. |
