|
|
Hi,
first post within these forums.
This is on a VirtualBox on Windows 11 on a recent Intel HW.
KDE was running like a charm; however, since the update was emerged a few days ago there is only a black (graphical) screen with a KDE mouse pointer after logging in via sddm and the journal contains looping messages about kded5 core dumps. Cleaning up ~/.cache, ~/.config and ~/.kde4 didn't bring any results.
Can anybody figure out what is causing the issue?

Noone knows or noone cares?
Anyway, short term solution applied by means of:
Code: |
eselect profile set 7 # (default/linux/amd64/17.1/desktop/gnome)
USE_FLAGS="${USE_FLAGS} gnome gdm gles2"
emerge gnome-base/gnome
emerge --ask --update --deep --newuse --backtrack=300 @world
emerge --ask --depclean
systemctl disable sddm.service
systemctl enable gdm.service
systemctl reboot
|
Greetings,
L. |
