Hi
Must be getting old ... can't see how to fix, or find help with search.
Code: |

I do not have any Python targets in make.conf.
Any ideas?

The problem is that dev-python/m2r is marked masked for removal
/var/db/repos/gentoo/profiles/package.mask: | # Michał Górny <mgorny@gentoo.org> (2022-05-25)
# dev-python/m2r has not seen any activity since Jun 2019 and requires
# old version of dev-python/mistune. dev-python/sphinxcontrib-openapi
# has not seen any activity since Oct 2020. Their only revdep
# is dev-python/jupyter_server[doc], so let's mask the flag and remove
# them.
# Removal on 2022-06-24. Bug #843881.

That's an aside, not the problem.
Try:
Code: | # emerge --deselect dev-python/m2r |
If portage reports it is not recorded in world anyway, please tell us your exact emerge command you update world with. |

Hi
If marked for removal, what about
equery depends dev-python/m2r
* These packages depend on dev-python/m2r:
dev-python/automat-20.2.0 (dev-python/m2r[python_targets_python3_9(-)])

Please read/execute my post.
Your question is answered simply by looking at involved version numbers. |

Should I just uninstall dev-python/m2r ?

Yes. The reason seems to be https://bugs.gentoo.org/848900
dev-python/automat-20.2.0-r1 removes the dependency on dev-python/m2r, but its build will fail as long as dev-python/m2r is *installed*. That means manual removal is required to continue with emerge upgrade. |
