My steam login screen is blank except for the cross to close the window. https://imgur.com/a/BYOJPl7
I followed the steps on the wiki (https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Steam): add steam-overlay, unmask everything in steam-overlay and emerge steam-meta. In addition to that I'm running steam within a chroot. Again following the steps on the steam wiki.
Here is the stdout from steam. Note there are some assertions failing and it uploads a dump file.

You can try launching Steam with
Not sure if that will let you access the login because I know they've changed that fairly recently. But if you're able to login, that will hopefully let you access your library (the store/browser should be disabled with that option) |

It worked! Both the browser and store work, the library works too. Wonderful! Thanks for your advice! Hope the topicstarter will come back and see such an elegant solution
