In case anyone's interested...

I updated my Asus TUF Gaming X570-Plus (Wi-Fi) mobo to have 32 GB of ECC memory.
The memory was Kingston Server Premier - DDR4 - Module - 16 GB - DIMM 288-pin - 2666 MHz / PC4-21300.
(The cheapest I could find from a distributor I consider reputable. Plenty of alternatives available. The thing to look for is Unbuffered ECC memory.)

dmesg for my updated kernel with the appropriate ECC support shows it working, as does a 2 hr run of memtest86 free edition.
Now all I need is a bucketful of cosmic rays to see if it corrects the errors!

I have 2 AMD systems. One with an Asus board, the other Gigabyte

Windows System - Gaming system
Asus TUF Gaming X570-PRO Wifi II
R9 5900X
64 GB G. SKill memory
2x Samsung 970 Pro 2TB nVME
PowerColor Red Devil 6950XT - upgraded the PowerColor Red Devil 6700XT

Linux System - Production system
Gigabyte X570S Aorus Elite AX
R7 3700X
64 GB TeamGroup memory - Changed to G.Skill memory because the replacement TeamGroup memory was also bad. I took the loss and dropped it off at a computer shop across the street from work. An organization picks up older parts for repurposing.
nVIDIA 2700 Super
1 Samsung 980 Pro 2TB nVME - I can add more, but one is suffice for now.
1 WD CMR 12 GB HDD (more drives will be added as they are close to capacity as they are too expensive to buy many at once).

I'm still configuring the linux system. I hope to have a full report as soon as it's done.
