What CW Agent does is a put-metrics-data ¹ ² call by a schedule.
You can make a few lines script which does exactly the same, and schedule it via cron. |

If for some reason you want to use the AWS agent, yes, you can install it on Gentoo. Cloud agents are not special. Get their source. Use an ebuild to build and package it. Whether such an ebuild already exists is an open question. You may need to write one. |
