I just realized that my 8bitdo Pro 2 controller does in fact have gyros and motion control capability. Unfortunately I am at an utter loss to figure out how to set up the UDP server to make it work with an emulator like Yuzu. I do understand that I may be able to get it to work by installing Cemu (assuming that there's some cemuhook server that comes with it) but I'm a little leary about installing it since it wants to activate some useflags for wayland when I'm on an X11 environment.

I did install joycond, the hid-nintendo module, and I installed the evdevhook package from the xarblu-overlay but this doesn't seem to really make a difference. The controller pairs just fine with my system over bluetooth but it's just not recognized as a motion control device at all for some reason.

e.g.:
Code:
$ bluetoothctl
Agent registered
[CHG] Controller B4:0E:DE:98:98:BE Pairable: yes
[8BitDo Pro 2]#

Code:

$ evdevhook
Connected motion devices:

necron,

Is https://linuxgamingcentral.com/posts/8bitdo-pro-2-support-coming-to-kernel-6.3/ any help?

Start with the current Gentoo testing kernel. That's 6.4.x

Didn't try xboxdrv yet. I thought that was for an xbox 360 controller specifically and wouldn't have support for the gyros (I'm just assuming they're laser gyros).

I'll give that and the test kernel a shot and let you guys know.

necron,

I read that as well as, not instead of. Also that page says from 6.3 the xbox option is not required.

Doesn't really seem to have made a difference either way (with xboxdrv or with JOYSTICK_XPAD enabled on 6.4.4).
