Building kernel for the PS3

I wanted to play with PlayStation 3 Slim CECH-2103B and installed Gentoo on it using OtherOS++.
I am able to boot to gentoo now, but wanted to update the kernel, as Im using a copy of 3.15 kernel from Red Ribbon.
I tried multiple repositories, and applied various patches, but none seem to work. Usually petitboot hangs on "rebooting" screen, or shows kexec failed.
Anyone has some experience with that, and could help me build that kernel? Or it someone has a copy of relatively recent kernel that works with OtherOS++, could you share it?

Ok, found the issue. So in order for it to work you need to:
- apply few patches available over the internet, so that system can read the disk regions.
- in kernel configuration disable: Kernel options / Build big-endian kernel using ELF ABI V2
