What can I do if I find an error in one of our Gentoo wiki's articles ?
Of course, our Wiki editors would be happy if you fix the error yourself by editing the article! Please do edit wiki articles directly, it is easy, and is by far the best way to help out. See the contributor's guide to get started making edits.
Find more detailed information here: what to do when noticing an error on the wiki.
There are other options to report an error: each article has a Talk Page where you can discuss improvements to articles. Post on the talk page with something like replace <this section> with <this new text>. In fact, if you find a bug in the AMD64 Handbook, this is the only way to report a bug directly, since the AMD64 Handbook pages cannot be edited directly (only by authorized persons).
Other ways to report an error:
1. If you already have an account in Gentoo's Bugzilla, fill out a bug report there: https://bugs.gentoo.org/ . File the bug under the "Wiki" component of the "Websites" product.
2. If you are active in Libera IRC, you can also report and discuss a bug with a Gentoo wiki editor in Channel: #gentoo-wiki.
3. Send an email to wiki@gentoo.org (can take a while).
4. If all this is not an option for you, you can of course make a forum post in case of emergency. Please be patient with the implementation, because not all Wiki editors monitor the forum.
There is a section in the wiki faq on contacting wiki admins. |
