Been watching this forum since the announcement, err, 4 years ago on Christmas Day. I'm beginning to wonder if Santa really exists
(Actually, I'm quite happy with these old style forums; doing stuff to Gentoo rather than the forums is a better priority.) _________________ Greybeard |

I agree.

Me too, the only minor inconveniences in my opinion:
- I have to zoom (140%) on my 1440p screen, else the text is barely readable at all
- No mobile version (unlike other sections such as packages/bugs/wiki)
- No RSS feeds

Now I'm tempted to setup sfeed to fetch forum pages and convert them into atom/rss feed. :D _________________ ..: Zucca :..

Although I think it could be possible to craft custom css file to achieve the mobile-friendly layout... Not sure how well mobile browsers support custom css files.

| I have set zoom level to 200% on forums.gentoo.org for my FHD laptop display. Gentoo forums are not alone with this problem. There are many other sites where I have adjusted zoom level. _________________ ..: Zucca :..

It's a good thing that you don't need custom CSS. Responsive CSS has been a thing for more than a decade now. _________________ Collect memories, not things. |

I think the idea of custom CSS was that the CSS files served by forums.gentoo.org will not be changed, so anyone who dislikes the settings from those files will need a custom override locally. Since the files on the server will not be changed, the existence of responsive CSS technologies does not help, because the files currently on the server do not use responsive CSS sufficient to satisfy the mobile users. On desktop browsers, applying a local override is easy. |

Custom CSS has been talked over here too.
I think it's a pretty good workaround until forums get a new makeover. _________________ ..: Zucca :..
