Hello, i just wondering about why Lutris, one of the best gaming platforms on linux, has so many required dependencies, that are not necessary to play games, such as WebKit browser engine or PipeWire. Is there any trick to bypass this or is there more lightweight alternative to Lutris? I would be very greatful for your advice. |

For one thing, Lutris has a Linux GUI for configuring the games, so it needs that level of support.
For another, it's not just a game starter, it's an installer too. More in-Linux support.
IIRC, it's requirements aren't complete, either. I had to iterate a bit on the installation to get everything in place.
Actually, I was surprised to see how full-featured and diverse it was. _________________ .sigs waste space and bandwidth |

If you find that a dependency is actually not used then please do let me know (via bug report) and then I'll drop it. But webkit and pipewire are definitely required. You may not need this to run any games, but lutris itself is written using webkit-gtk and pipewire is needed for some other features. _________________ OS: Gentoo 6.10.12-gentoo-dist, ~amd64, 23.0/desktop/plasma/systemd
