Hi All, i've been playing around with 3 different thunderbolt 3 docks to no avail with my gentoo setup

Essentially here is what I have

The docks drive 1-2 monitors AND drive a USB mouse+Keyboard AND have an integrated USB NIC

for this post I will just bring up one of my docks which is a https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-Thunderbolt-DisplayPort-Non-Thunderbolt-136656/dp/B084HPLQ6T (which apparently is a rebranded https://www.thunderbolttechnology.net/product/thunderbolt%E2%84%A2-3-docking-model-tb3-dock03 dock?)

anyway, when i plug this thing in i do get
* power
* displays to drive

but the ethernet, usb, and attached sound (3.5mm) are not recognized

the strange thing is that when i restart my computer without detaching the dock, everything BUT the monitors shows up. when i unplug and re-plug the dock, im back to the above scenario

the thing that's vexing me, is that all of the ubuntu LiveUSBs that im using (23.10) do not have any problems picking up the docks so I'm sort of left at a loss here

im trying to get this to run on an AMD framework (https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Framework_Laptop), im currently using gentoo-sources 6.7.8

some files in case if its helpful
lspci: https://paste.gentoo.zip/bsGjRq6b
kernel .config: https://paste.gentoo.zip/2neQJd8j
emerge --info: https://paste.gentoo.zip/2PjpMeXi
dmesg: https://paste.gentoo.zip/ADFpOYfW

Any help would be very much appreciated

setting CONFIG_IOMMU_DEFAULT_DMA_STRICT back from IOMMU_DEFAULT_PASSTHROUGH seems to have sort of fixed this

some other changes that have been suggested to me since then were setting CONFIG_MCORE2=Y from CONFIG_MK8 (even though its a amd zen4 cpu), and CONFIG_I2C_SCMI=y

now the only problem that remains (that im still trying to resolve) is that one of the monitors im trying to connect to is only advertising 60hz even though it has has support for 120hz 144hz and 165hz

im going to mark this as solved since my monitor issue seems to have nothing to do with my thunderbolt dock (directly connecting it is no different)
