|
|
Hi All,
I have a ThinkPad 51 Laptop with an hybrid video card I use Gentoo as OS, when I resume system from suspend text and icon become corrupted. I use Cinnamon as desktop and the workaround for this problem is Alt+F2 and r.
If I modify this option “options nvidia NVreg_PreserveVideoMemoryAllocations=0” to “options nvidia NVreg_PreserveVideoMemoryAllocations=1” from /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia.conf everything work fine but the system will never go into the suspend mode.
Is it a way to have in same times the possibility to enter in suspend mode and the resume of system works fine ?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Kind regards,
Willy |

If this is a systemd profile, have you enabled the nvidia-suspend/resume services as well?
I'm using wayland, but up until recently I could somehow reset the graphics mode by switching to a text mode terminal with CTRL+ALT+F<something> and back.
Best Regards,

Hi Georgi,
Thank you for your reply on my system I use RC subsystem, infortunetly in RC mode there is no nvidia-suspend/resume service, I'm going to looking for the equivalent service in this mode.
I use xorg as display server.
Kind regards,

How do you suspend the system? Does echo mem > /sys/power/state work?

Thank you for your help.
