Hello folks ...

I get this error ...

portage info here ...

It seems to have a problem with the current webkit-gtk-2 installation! I tried manual configuration by disabling gtk but didn't work either. I tried different configuration combinations but it doesn't seem to compile at all!

This is Bug 921166 - media-video/handbrake-1.6.1 fails to compile (GCC-14-SYSTEM): muxavformat.c:1209:18: error: implicit declaration of function time [-Wimplicit-function-declaration] which has a proposed patch attached

So I'll need to download the source from upstream rather and make a -9999 ebuild for it?

There is already an -9999 ebuild for it.

I was hasty in asking my last question I apologize!

But it doesn't compile either!! All the gentoo patches fail with it! The commit page has many patches and I'm not sure which to use ...

Would it be better if I downloaded the 1.8 source and made an ebuild for it?

https://bugs.gentoo.org/917591 has some attempts with 1.7.0 and 1.7.3. If either of them work, it might make a 1.8 easier (and it might not too).

Perhaps I'll give it another try later then, but thanks anyway!
