Hi guys, I have a question. As some know I am actually working on my package manager. I have a technical question.

I saw that the linux kernel provide some common headers as the glibc package. Which one should be used in priority normally ?

You mean the package "linux-headers" ... ?

It is said that you can/should use always the newest one (you will get with ~amd64): https://sourceware.org/glibc/wiki/FAQ#What_version_of_the_Linux_kernel_headers_should_be_used.3F

The same information is in our Wiki: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Linux-headers

I'm not aware of any overlap between kernel headers used for building userspace packages (which Gentoo packages as sys-kernel/linux-headers) and libc headers. Do you have an example?

As a packager I just don't want things to get messier with weird build systems and multiple toolchains requirements though :)
