Wonderful "pietinger" : Appreciate your efforts. All thumbs up to you For me, there are a lot of manuals behind it I need to understand each nut and bolt of the command.
Learning Gentoo Linux is time-consuming but if someone understands it it will be easy to move ahead. Still yet I am not perfect and each day I learn new Gentoo stuff. Each command itself has a meaning and if someone digests it how to apply it, it will be very easy to learn it.

Still, the command does not properly work, (maybe it is due to a bug ).
Banana: I also appreciate your contribution to guiding me.Thanks for it Other members are also welcome to share their valuable knowledge
In the end, I want to say a good job |

Please check the time of your system (with "date") ... if it is wrong no rsync will work.
But ... you have not told us the most important fact about your 6.6.35:
Did it boot correctly ?
Also: I asked two times the same: Have you checked the settings ? ... usually it would be polite to answer ... _________________ https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/User:Pietinger |

We'll as to your instructions Yes, 6.6.35 booted successfully . ipv6 is also disable which is the right sign for me. You can see the snaps in my previous post (above).
Once again thanks a lot for your wonderful guidance. |

The last thing I am worried about is that " emerge --sync " is still not responding...My date and time are correct. ipv6 is already disabled.

You are using IP address 10.0.2.14 ... a private "class-A"-address ... normally used in larger networks ... is there a firewall somewhere between ? (You surely know you need an open TCP port 873 for rsync). _________________ https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/User:Pietinger |

Thanks for the reply. Well, I have tried my level best. I am working under a virtual box. My host machine uses Class C and the guest uses Class A (Using NAT).
I am not behind any firewall. I have also installed "netcat".
The command shows.
# nc -zv rsync.gentoo.org 873

Virtual Machine Network

I think there may be complications when I am using NAT . My port 873 is open.
If I install Gentoo on dedicated hardware (Not a virtual machine), there will be no such issues. Whats your opinion? |

If you dont have a firewall, why do you use NAT ? ... and not a simple routing ? _________________ https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/User:Pietinger |

I have tried the rest of the "Network" options in the Oracle virtual box. All failed......I don't know where there is a problem. The things you tell me I try as to my knowledge. Now tired......
Instead, I may try it why not I move ahead in Gentoo Linux?
Thank you all for guiding me. Though I failed in this case I.e " # emerge --sync " I have learned a lot in this exercise. |
