After switching from media-libs/opensubdiv-3.5.1 to media-libs/opensubdiv-3.6.0-r1, adding Blenders "Subdivision Surface" modifier to a mesh causes it to segfault.
My instinct says it's one of the use flags added below that needs switching portage wrote: | [ebuild U ] media-libs/opensubdiv-3.6.0-r1::gentoo [3.5.1::gentoo] USE="X%* glew%* glfw%* opencl opengl%* openmp (-cuda) -doc% -examples -ptex -python% -tbb -test -tutorials" | but with a 10-15 minute compile time on each version of blender installed, if someone has a working 3.6 version can you share your flags please? |

Blender and Freecad are often broken on Gentoo. |

I'm having this issue, and downgrading to opensubdiv-3.5.1 then re-emerging blender-4.1.1-r2 solves the problem.
To test it, just create a cube in blender (shift-A, mesh->cube) and press ctrl-2 to add a subdivision modifier. It crashes immediately with opensubdiv-3.6.0-r1, but not with opensubdiv-3.5.1.
Strangely, opensubdiv-3.6.0-r1 is marked as stable whereas opensubdiv-3.5.1 is marked as testing. |
