Good day, comrades.
I understand, that my request is poorly formulated, but perhaps something common is going on
Install according to the handbook, livesd, amd64, the command

emerge --ask --verbose --update --deep --newuse @world

hangs.

Sometimes the computer freezes, sometimes the terminal. I tried llvm/clang - it crashed a little less, but everything was still bad. I tried install in different partitions. Afterwards, I successful tested memory, installed Windows 11 on this partition.
what's happening?

The output of
Code:
emerge --info
could help to better understand your setup.

Welcome to the forums. We can make some broad guesses, but we need more information to have much chance of solving this.

The emerge --info requested above would be a good start. It would also help to understand what exactly hangs, and when. Is it hanging while merging particular packages? Hanging merging any package whatsoever? Is the system properly cooled?

thanks for the answer
seems to be different. both gcc and mesa hung.
Here emerge --info

Hmm ... 6.1.0-18-amd64 is not a kernel from Gentoo ... what have you installed ? Do you use a VM or is this an installation to bare metal ?

Please provide all installation steps you did and also the other two files mentioned here:

(note the reference to wgetpaste)

I've been getting to know Gentoo for the second month. Before, everything was relatively good except for some bugs. But when I tried to update to gcc 13.3.1, multiple problems with Emerge arose. In the end, I finally finished off the system and decided to install a new one.
Code:
Do you use a VM or is this an installation to bare metal ?

I installed it directly on a PC and on an SSD and on an HDD. And from a liveCD and from under Debian. All actions from a handbook amd64 minus all security. I wget link 3 stage desktop profile|openRC and LVM|openrc. I haven't mounted EFI yet, but I've done it with it. In htop it often freezes either cc1plus or sh.
when installing I don't get to the kernel compilation. I go through
emerge --ask --oneshot app-portage/cpuid2cpuflags
and on the first Updating the @world set I get a hang
I haven't dealt with wgetpaste and I may be wrong

gives me "page not found" ... and this was/is the most important information ... :(

Maybe you want read this article and then tell us where you have deviated:
https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/User:Pietinger/Draft/Quick_Installation_OpenRC_for_an_UEFI_System

and maybe before:
https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/User:Pietinger/New_at_Gentoo
(this explains also HOW to chroot back to an aborted installation)

Please boot with our GentooCD !

I'm not sure if this was expected of me, but running the command
Code:
 wget http://dpaste.com/2ED57KN46

downloads the file you're looking for. And the link will work for a few more days.
I apologize, but I will return to Gentoo, which has charmed me, in a week. For now I have to catch up on other distributions, and I don’t have time for endless experiments yet.

Could be an overheating problem of RAM modules ... do you overclock your RAM ?

Overclocking was not performed, but apparently these are memory problems that it does not catch MemTest86+. Maybe you can tell me how to find the previous release that worked fine for me and check on it?

I'm sorry but I don't understand what you mean.

If you (your computer) do something that is really demanding on your machine (e.g. compiling programs with 10 cores out of 12) then not only does your CPU get "warmer", but also the RAM modules. You can only do the following:
1. better cooling, and/or
2. replace the RAM modules, or
3. reduce the load (MAKEOPTS="-j6" ... or even less).

3 I did earlier. Yes, I strongly doubt about heating
my mistake, clang works fine this time. I did not notice earlier that changing the profile to desktop in llvm-stage replaced clang with gcc. Perhaps gcc13.3.1 is malfunctioning on my equipment. But clang will not completely replace gcc. It is necessary to replace gcc13.3.1 with gcc13.2, which worked before. I will try to compile 13.2 with clang. or maybe someone can suggest something else in the assumption about the gcc bugs?
