SSO login fails with zoom-6.1.11.1545

From the Zoom desktop client, when I attempt to login to <my-institution>.zoom.us, Chrome boots with file:///tmp/mcclung/.cache/kioexec/krun/11033_0/login rather than the URL of my institutions's SSO login server.

Any debugging hints will be greatly received.

I've made a little progress by removing google-chrome.desktop "everywhere" in ~/.config/mimeapps.list and replacing with firefox-bin.desktop, which is the version of Firefox I've emerged. The SSO login goes through but then Firefox displays a page with "Click Open on the dialog shown by your browser" and there is no such dialog. Clicking Launch Zoom doesn't help.

I think if I knew what entries in ~/.config/mimeapps.list need to be set to firefox-bin.desktop (e.g. x-scheme-handler/zoommtg? url-scheme-handler/zoommtg?) I could set the rest to the browser of my choice, probably google-chrome.desktop. Are there any entries that need to be set to zoom.desktop?

Seeing any mimeapps.list that work for Zoom would be gratefully received.
