Hi guys.
At work machine I am using frequently a Gentoo VM in VirtualBox. Windows 10 host . I encounter 2 issues for some time:
1) this one appeared with Plasma 6 upgrade. Basically, after some time, if the machine is idle, the screen goes black, but cursors is visible and can be moved. The only way to get the screen is to switch to virtual terminal (ctrl+alt+f1 in example) and then back again to desktop sessions. All power management and screen saver (except locking) is disabled. This is more annoyance then actual issue, but would like to solve it. X11 is the session, did not try with Wayland because it acts strange under VirtualBox.
2) after some time running (2-3 hours), with proactive use (mainly Firefox, Konsole, vim and VLC occasionally) the system starts lagging. Interface lags, video playing lag etc. Memory consumption looks fine without any memory or CPU intensive processes. Dmesg does not show anything. Logging off and log in again does not solve it. The only way is to reboot and it is quite annoying because I cannot save and reboot session. I do not know where to start debugging this...?
I am running pretty much standard openRC, desktop Plasma profile and I'm using official binary packages. VBox guest additions are installed (7.1.0, but the issue existed with 7.0.20 as well).

Symptoms seem the same, but the issue from the bug is related to Wayland session. I am using X11.
Also, restarting Plasma does not solve it for me. I have to restart the system otherwise it becomes barely usable. |
