Hello,

Is this a similar bug as this post or is clang required now? Thanks.

Code:
$ emerge -pv1 spidermonkey

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

What do you think is a bug? Your output shows that you will build with USE=-clang. There are no errors shown.

The previous dev-lang/spidermonkey-115.16.0 version didn't require pulling in all those clang dependencies.

Should be an easy fix, will look today after testing firefox-132.0.2.

EDIT: I'm not 100 % up-to-date with the new rust.eclass, but I imagine RUST_NEEDS_LLVM=1 may not be required with spidermonkey which should disable pulling clang when not desired.

EDIT2: Oh, right, but it needs this patch: https://gitweb.gentoo.org/repo/gentoo.git/commit/dev-lang/spidermonkey?id=7c429348b674c1a310c4ab3360db72f6849a9a9c which is only available in 128* and not in 115. Did you previously have 128 installed? I see 128.4.0-r1 doesn't have the RUST_NEEDS_LLVM defined so it should work. Did you have it installed on a stable system and now need to update your package.accept_keywords?

I've only had 115 installed. It looks like it's needed by gjs.

Code:
emerge -pvc spidermonkey

Calculating dependencies... done!
  dev-lang/spidermonkey-115.16.0-r1 pulled in by:
    dev-libs/gjs-1.80.2 requires dev-lang/spidermonkey:115
