Hello,

I have a problem with wayland with plasma 6 and nvidia card.
Kickcad is difficult to use, because the screen turn black until you move the mouse, so no easy to trace some tracks.
Minecraft is impossible to play, same black screen like a big buffer problem.
Big game like Baldur's Gate 3 don't have this problem but some screen freeze.

I have a decent PC with Ryzen 5900X, 64MB ram and nVidia RTX 3090 (I use it more for AI stuffs).

I still have xorg X11 installed to use the software that don't run in wayland like this too.
I wonder if the fact I still have xorg is the problem because these application are xwayland one, or a X11 configuration?

xprop on a minecraft window without the icons
Code:
xprop

I will start to make a new gentoo, because mine is 19 years old and have problems now.
If this not working I will change.

Problem finally solved.
This display problem is written all over redit and elsewhere.

I did install nvidia drivers 565.57.01 and this time kwin works properly and the sync is now correct, no more black screen in minecraft, many steam games, kicad and everything that is using xwayland.

I think that a 19 year old Gentoo (which has probably hardly been updated) is better replaced by a new installation instead of laboriously trying to bring it up to date step by step. It should be faster in any case.

I use it since 19 years, so I did updated around 4 times per years. This gentoo was moved several times on a new PC.
Now I update it every months since 4 years.
