I have a Dell Latitude E5440 and I'm using a compiled kernel. Is there a way to modify the kernel, perhaps by adjusting the timer tick handling, to allow my laptop to remain powered on when the screen is fully closed? _________________ This is Jim Rockford. As far as I know, the kernel does not power off the system when the laptop lid closes. Some people install user applications which can cause that, such as acpid or systemd-logind. If you have such an application configured to put the system into suspend, then you need to reconfigure that application not to do that. |
