|
|
I'm really confused about what is going on with elements scaling in programs with Qt implementation. In different internet threads everyone suggests trying different environment variables, but nothing seems to work. I'm not even sure what to look for. It feels like there's a simple fix here, and i remember having this problem before, but I can't remember how to fix it. The OS was just installed on a new system, after a bit of corrections I got everything working, except this issue, and I'm really stuck here.
Here's two screenshots that illustrate well what I'm talking about here:

Hope it's okay to post these. I'm not sure what info to give for troubleshooting, so please tell me if anything is needed to pinpoint the source of this issue. As a general point, I'll just say that I'm using AMDGPU graphics (Vega11 iGPU) with Wayland/Sway.

It might be a scaling issue related to your Wayland setup or Qt settings. Have you tried adjusting the QT_SCALE_FACTOR or QT_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTORS environment variables or tweaking your Wayland DPI settings? Those could help with this type of problem. |

I have the same issue as described in this thread: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-8479340.html
but the listed solutions do not work for me. whatever environmental values I set it does nothing for me. not sure what to do =/

that did nothing really. the scale of the UI is still broken

it's some sort of internal issue with the interface. scaling anything doesn't fix the way the UI is layed out

meanwhile the flatpak (flathub) version works just fine.... this is some sort of problem with Qt5 programs, because net-im/telegram-desktop compiled with the qt6 use flag works fine. Is there some sort of Qt5 related configs that I might try to wipe or reset? like those that are related to qt5ct or qt6ct? perhaps deleting those and generating fresh ones would help in my instance?
-- edit --
I don't know what the hell is going on, but at least the AppImage of qbittorrent works fine. I wonder what's wrong here?
-- edit --
Deleting .config/qt5ct/config (whatever the file name was) didn't do the trick. Do I need to recompile something or get something else installed? I'm not sure, the system should be up-to-date, so that shouldn't be an issue.... _________________ If dreams were horses, beggars would ride. |
