It all started in August with kernel 6.7 and continues to this day with kernel 6.12.11: after coming out of sleep mode, the last picture of the screen saver appears and the computer freezes completely - it does not respond to any keys (including REISUB), it is unavailable via ssh. Reset only with the Reset button. This doesn't happen every time, maybe the first time, or maybe the 3rd or 4th time. I have not been able to find out the exact dependency. At the same time, the computer never freezes while working or playing. He is always stable.
With the 6.6 kernel branch, everything is working fine.

Last entry in the logs: ....kernel: PM: suspend entry (deep).
The following entries are the kernel boot logs after the reset.

What I've tried all this time and it didn't help:
- replaced the power supply;
- I tested the memory (everything was fine), and then I bought a new kit;
- I changed the keyboard, the mouse;
- I tried it on Plasma 6 Wayland and X11, openbox;
- downgrade to linux-firmware-20240410;
- installed gentoo-kernel-bin-6.12.11;
- removed rocm-opencl-runtime-6.1;
- tried amd_pstate=guided, passive, active;
- set SATA_MOBILE_LPM_POLICY to 0 (default value 3);
- tried powerprofilesctl set performance;
- disabled power-profiles-daemon;
- updated the BIOS to the most secure version since September 2024;
- rolled back to the BIOS version December 2023.;
- reset the default settings in the BIOS;
- disabled in the ASPM BIOS;
- disabled the bluetooth service and even deleted the bluetooth device from the computer;
- I disabled lact, corectrl, and removed amdgpu flags from the kernel launch line.

How can I catch at least some logs to find the reason?

Code:

That show ahci don't support the sleep mode, which explain why the usb is not setup, and I guess the keybord rely on it, which in turn imply only the power button is working.

You should check if the ahci kernel module is correctly set up, and if yes, I think that the only solution would be to disable the usb into the bios and add an usb card. You may also check the usb setup into the bios. Many motherboards have very cheap and more or less buggy usb hardware.

A search for ahci or usb kernel issues for the model of your motherboard can maybe gives you some more clues.

Be also careful with virtualbox, my experience is that it may freeze the system with suspend/resume. The recent versions seam to do a better job with that, but who knows.

Thanks for the comments and thoughts.

I solved the problem with "ahci 0000:02:00.1: port does not support device sleep" by setting SATA_MOBILE_LPM_POLICY to 0 (firmware), but it didn't help.
Moreover, the same error with the 6.6 kernel does not apply to wake up from suspend.

The error from the USB it is about the keyboard. But that's not the reason either - I've also changed the keyboard.

The AHCI and USB settings in the kernel are the simplest - it's hard to mess something up there. I also installed the gentoo-kernel-bin-6.12.11 kernel.

I had thoughts of unloading VB modules before going to bed, I need to try.
