|
|
I did a major update some weeks ago, and since I last rebooted I've not been able to play any video on my browser (FF, Chrome both won't play).
I can play via mplayer just fine.
Ideas on how to debug this?
Thanks. _________________ Beetle B.

Unsure if you have the same problem but I had the same symptoms after a large system update: FF fails, mplayer works. I had been using suspend/resume and it kept on failing.
But then...
I rebooted.
Everything worked okay after rebooting. _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD

Weird.
My PC had rebooted several times and it wasn't working. But now it does. _________________ Beetle B.

Scratch that. It stopped working again.
It seems it worked after a reboot, but then at some point later it stopped working.
Ideas? _________________ Beetle B.

I think I have a strange problem, my graphics subsystem is glitching and after glitching it stops working as well. Reboot fixes it.
Seeing this: [drm:uvd_v1_0_ib_test [radeon]] *ERROR* radeon: fence wait timed out.
I'm not sure it's a software problem or more likely my GPU is dying. I always have GPUs die on me...*sigh*. _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD

eccerr0r: with what kernel version(s) are you seeing that error? I remember seeing reports of that for some of the newer kernel series. |

I should have mentioned I'm also seeing the broken playback again after being able to use it for a while...and reboot restores operation.
Still using ancient 5.4.97 on this machine... Mesa 24.3.3. radeon-si
Thing is, it's random, which probably implies hardware. I haven't but should test my W2100s under same stress to see if it's any different, should be real similar to the R7-250 which I'm seeing it on. _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD
