setpriv seam to be the best solution in my case. I still have to change the scripts to get ride of the PID file, but to use FvwmPrompt to tell fvwm to set infostore variables with the PID of the scripts for use in the associated functions should do it.
Thanks You all, to debug this made me to do a lot of home work. ![Cool 8)](images/smiles/icon_cool.gif) _________________ "Confirm You are a robot." - the singularity |

Which one was the script described in the OP that got reparented to process 1 when fvwm3 terminated? Is it in FVWM-Crystal's Git repository? _________________

I just made some commits, more will follow later or tomorrow. They are here:
AutoHibernate
DeCheckMounts
ScreenLidSuspend
Edit: for now, only DeCheckMounts is started with the new wrapper fvwm function that use "Exec exec setpriv ...".
Edit2: I will first made that script and the fvwm ExecScript and KillExecScript functions to work with the infostore variables, that before porting these changes to the 2 other scripts. _________________ "Confirm You are a robot." - the singularity |

I updated these scripts and the related fvwm functions on github. That seam to works fine on my desktop, but I still get strange issues on the laptop. That laptop is more powerful than the desktop and it get updated more often. These strange issues includes shell commands that don't gives the same result at the prompt and into a script.
So, I shifted on the desktop and on the laptop, I am doing a try with an emerge world and masking the ~amd64 versions of glibc, which will downgrade gcc14 to gcc13. I guess that, if that don't gives me a good working system, the less time consuming option would be to start from the scratch a fresh install on that laptop. _________________ "Confirm You are a robot." - the singularity |
