I took all my nvidia cards out of service... might have to setup a system with one to see what the expected behavior is.

In any case all of my nvidia cards with nouveau are either no better or slower than my worst pcie ATI (RadeonHD 5450 I think is my worst) card with the OSS ATI driver so they all got decommissioned into the spare parts pile...
