For a few weeks now ROCm has been complete to the 6.3.2 level, but when I go to do updates it's being held back to 6.1.x. The other day I dug in and saw that the problem is in sci-libs/caffe2 which specifies =6.1* for ROCm. Just for jollies I created a local copy of sci-libs/caffe2-2.5.1-r8 (r7 is in portage) and changed the ROCm level to 6.3*. It all compiled successfully and for the minor pytorch test cases I've got it ran as well. I would might expect that because usually libs are backwards-compatible for point releases.
I did briefly try creating sci-libs/caffe2-2.6.0-r1 but it failed to compile. I also realized that I'd never compiled it with ROCm 6.1, so I don't know if the problem was my meddling or something else.
At any rate, does anyone know when sci-libs/caffe2 will catch up with the general ROCm release? _________________ .sigs waste space and bandwidth |
