I am doing my weekly upgrade of my Gentoo Systems, and see the move to Python 3.13 is due 2025-05-01
So, as usual, I have started the upgrade process using the 3 stage upgrade, but Lensfun is not compatible with Python 3.13
I will stick with Python 3.12 for now.
Any idea when Lensfun will allow upgrade to Python 3.13?
Many thanks

I usually attempt the most direct update and if that indicates there are packages that are not migrated yet, I just wait. Of course some packages have fewer users, many of them not rushing to update, it's possible they don't get migrated past the announced date, so sometimes a bug might be necessary.

And after all, you are free to delay it. But always check the bug tracker first to see if there's a bug for the packages of interest. Sometimes you're the one to file it.

As a last resort, you may manually just change the PYTHON_COMPAT variable in the ebuild in a local overlay. It's not guaranteed to work, but most of the time it just works.

Best Regards,
Georgi

Thanks @logrusx you are correct, I should have looked at the bugs before posting. My error!
Thanks for the additional advice.
