Hello, i was having some troubles doing the stage1 ebuild and get a error could not find /dev/null displays alot of times when running any scripts
im going to give it another try caus it failed in the end when trying to execute the ebuild script for stage 1.
Any one else here have any similar problem like this? |

| Alright i have found that there is no /dev block devices once u chroot on stage1 is there a script on the live cd that will create the dev devices? |

| rup1033: I ran into the same problem. The sticky thread at the top has instructions on using MAKEDEV in order to fix the problem |

oh ok ill check that out i knew there was some kind of makedev on every other linux i have used but didnt see it in gentoo's livecd. *goes to try installing it*  |

i posted before searching for that sticky thread , coudnt find it.
I am currently in setup on my opteron pc and looked and realized it uses DevFS imnot sure howto setup my dev system on the chrooted file system :/
could you link that to me? |
