Hi all,
Previous posts suggested that current GCC doesn't support much optimization flag for AMD64 architecture and we should only use '-O2 -pipe' for CFLAGS. Therefore, I felt I might just want to install all precompiled GRP packages, since there's nothing much I can tweak for performance. Are there any advantages to compile packages from scratch for 2004.0 release as they are compiled in same CFLAGS? The only advantage I can think of is to test drive my new AMD64 machine to see how fast is it.
Thanks,
