Saw this link posted on /. earlier http://www.ati.com/support/drivers/linux/radeon-linux.html?type=linux&prodType=graphic&prod=productsLINUXdriver&submit.x=9&submit.y=8 for linux drivers for newer (ie. 9600/9800) raedon cards. Anybody good at reverse engineering these for making amd64 compatible drivers? I think I saw something about there being 64 bit hooks in the proprietary drivers, but they aren't implemented just yet.
I know the driver listed has been out for a little while now, but it's only i386 and in rpm format. I was gonna try it out in suse 9 64bit because it was an rpm, but then saw the part about i386 in the readme. Was just a little bummed about that. Guess I might hafta just do a regular 32 bit install just to play with it to see how it does. _________________ http://www.1and1.com/?k_id=16196755 click me for cheap linux based web hosting. |

well, besides the fact that reverse engineering the driver would
be illegal, it would be overly difficult to do, and actually take
longer to do than just waiting on ATI's 64bit release. |
