We've all been waiting for so long for Andrew to make another release. Well, he finally did, and so did I. I got lazy this time and didn't make a proper notes file so I'm going off the top of my head.

May I be the first to say woohoo!
Let you know later how this one goes...
[edit]
No problems at all - very fast and responsive, especially under load - compiling, surfing the net, movie playing, vmware running, etc.

It's fixed. Delete /usr/portage/distfiles/2.6.4_rc2-love1.tar.bz2, redigest and try again. _________________ Rationality is the recognition of the fact that nothing can alter the truth and nothing can take precedence over that act of perceiving it. |

Yes, they are included. I'll update the first post accordingly. _________________ Rationality is the recognition of the fact that nothing can alter the truth and nothing can take precedence over that act of perceiving it. |

that's great!
I need to say that a few days ago I was very bad (sorry, my english sucks, i know) because my computer was lacking 3d-accel, sound and vmware compatibility.
I don't know what more to do (spend hundreds of times with differents options and kernels) and suddenly I remembered the existence of love-sources. I installed it. Sound is working correctly, ati-drivers behaves as expectly and vmware is running win-xp happily.
So steel, i'm happy.
Thanks! |

Ewww supermount eww ewww eww.....Please steel, please don't do it again. Its too much temptation for me to use that instead of playig with udev and dbus to mount my stuff.
And also, whats the point of evil sources if you include supermount? _________________ My Public Key

yes, vmware fails to compile.
What can we do in order to know what patch is doing that?
by the way, I'm sticking with rc1-love3 that runs very well. |

i tried your 2-6-3-love4 sources and now I have serious disk corruption on my
hpt -> 8 drives -> raid 5 - > cryptloop -> reiser 3.6
do you think this can be a love sources problem? |

I'm using it without problems.
no raid nor special things. Only a hard disk with reiser-3. |

uhmmmm..... any of you have experience using one of those "convert filesystems" utilities?
I want to test reiser4 but I have reiser3 and I don't want to reinstall gentoo.
(yes, I know it's unstable and bla bla bla) |

I heard that cryptloop has undergone big changes so it's possible that you enabled an option that is no longer compatible with it. Anyways, look up the changes to cryptloop and you'll probably find what's wrong. (I doubt the disk is really corrupted. Go back and use your previous kernels and it should still work.) |

Hi, I hope someone can help me
Since quite a few love sources releases (around 2.6.1 I think), loading the ati-driver module (fglrx) causes a segmentation fault. I tried reversing Nick's patch and removing preempt, and changing cfg to deadline, to no avail. I can't use love-sources without 3d acceleration, but I don't know what the problem is. The module loads fine when compiled against a vanilla kernel... any help?? _________________ Non fa male! Non fa male! |

Strange i compiled the previous love source version from this one into my dekstop pc which has a Radeon 9700pro and had no problems emerging the ati-drivers...
Check if there are problems with your agp... _________________ Gentoo the rising hope |

I have intel-agp compiled in the kernel, before it was a module and had no problems compiling/inserting... If I copy an fglrx module compiled against vanilla, I can't load it as It spit out an error (invalid module format). ck-sources works just fine... _________________ Non fa male! Non fa male! |

Ati-drivers work here perfectly with rc1-love3 (cannot test rc2-love1 because of the vmware-problems).
Please make agpgart and intel-agp as modules and "modprobe intel-agp" at boot, so agpgart and intel-agp gets loaded automatically.
Then start X. |
