Hello guys..

i want to know how i must proceed to configure Samba as client for a windows 2000 network...

i want to log in gentoo as i log on on my windows 2000 or xp machine, if i can do that of course...

For that to work you need to use winbind (comes with samba). Here's a guide on how to set it up: http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/man/winbind.html

the samba ebuild in gentoo provides some preconfigured pam and nsswitch.conf files, so it's quite easy.
